About Zinn

Carol Ann Zinn’s appreciation of Chapel Hill’s special appeal as a place to call home, her trend-setting vision and her devotion to quality have left their mark on real estate development in the area for more than three decades. A former artist-potter, her unique talent is enhanced by an eye for detail and frequent travels to other regions, where she finds inspiration.

In 1976, she created the first of eleven neighborhoods and two commercial projects in Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham. Her 1979 conversion of a milk-processing plant into The Courtyard, a mixed-use development of shops, restaurants and offices, paved the way for the re-development of Chapel Hill’s West Franklin Street. In 2002, she helped author ordinance text amendments that allowed the construction of detached single-family price-restricted affordable homes in Chapel Hill.

And now, with Aydan Court, Carol Ann brings to Chapel Hill a new mélange: a luxury development with a refined and unique sense of place which at the same time incorporates key energy efficiency and sustainability features.
